The Story

This oak leaf is but a lock of “hair” from the strong-limbed fellow known as Quercus rubra, or Red Oak. The tree’s leaves are so shapely that jewelry designer Janet Mavec was instantly smitten. She visits her favorite specimen often—a grand old man that shades the front drive of historic Greenwood Garden in New Jersey. In the summer breeze, those oak leaves shimmer and rattle. Come fall, the oak turns into a red-head, breathtakingly russet before shedding and baring his oaky soul.

Don't get too caught up in what to wear with this oak leaf necklace. It does all the talking. That said, it'll pop nicely with the darker shades, such as gray, red, and blue.
