The Rouge Vif d’Etampes is well known as the pumpkin that Cinderella escaped in as the clock struck midnight. This striking heirloom variety from France was begging to be made into a pumpkin necklace, and other key pieces of jewelry. Just look at its well defined ribs and flattened oval shape.
As a striking pumpkin necklace it shows power breakthrough from the Cinderella Complex that beset the female upbringing for so long.
As for the pumpkin charms on chains, wear the 22 inch pumpkin necklace over a casual T or shift dress. Then, layer the 18 inch pumpkin necklace on top as well for a whimsical, tiered effect.

Janet Mavec’s pumpkin necklaces are based on her own favorite variety: the Rouge Vif d’Etampes Pumpkin. This was the most common type of pumpkin in the Central Market in Paris, way back in the 1880s. Ooh la la.
